Hi I’m John Impey and welcome to my website,

I hope you receive as much joy out of looking at my paintings as I receive from painting them. I have had a close attachment to birds and animals from childhood and the colours of Australian parrots always excites me and the softness of the Australian animal’s fur makes painting them in detail a real challenge and I hope you will see if I have succeeded.

   The paints I use are Artist Quality Atelier Interactive and Matisse Acrylics both brands have vivid colours with Matisse having beautiful Australian home grown colours of the outback bush. In oil I use Holbien and Georgian paints all these paints give excellent results with a good depth of colour and will result in a painting that will last for years which is important for future generations to come.
